My son received a GCSE grade 2 English Literature in his final mocks, and I went into parental panic! It was February and he was taking his GCSE’s in 3-4 months. He got a 7 for English Language and there were no issues with his other grades. When I asked him why he got a 2, he said “I just don’t get it”, but he made it clear to me that he really did want to ‘get it’ and was willing to put work in, with the aim of getting a 5.

After a frantic internet search I came across Nathalie, who started weekly sessions with my son. She gave him confidence and as he says, “explained how to write a paragraph and what content he specifically needed”. After each session I’d ask him how it went, and with enthusiasm he’d say “yeah, really good, I get it!” Nathalie even fitted in sessions before his exams, this gave him calm confidence and an organised plan for the exam.

Nathalie’s strategy was thorough, delivered brilliantly and got my son an 8! One of his first reactions upon getting his results, was that we must tell Nathalie straight away and thank her. My son does have academic ability, but we all fully credit Nathalie’s incredible teaching skills with the achievement of lifting his grade from a ‘2’ to an ‘8’ in 3 months. Thank you Nathalie! Nathalie helped me greatly with my A level English literature. Her lessons were particularly useful for discussing ideas for my texts and also going through practice essays for which she gave me very detailed feedback. She is a wonderful tutor whose lessons are engaging, well-structured and extremely helpful.

As a result of her help and guidance, I have not only gained confidence in a subject I found difficult initially, but managed to achieve a high A* in my end of year exam. This has been a massive improvement since the beginning of the year, which shows just how good a tutor Nathalie has been.
